Tiny Apartment: Bed

Bed for a 160 sq. ft. apartment. It’s not a real Murphy bed, but it’s close. An actual Murphy bed is a mattress in a frame that attaches to the wall and can be raised or lowered as needed. This improvised Murphy bed operates without a frame–we just slide it between the side of a 15″ deep bookcase and the wall. We looked at futons and loft beds and decided this setup was the best sleeping solution for our small space. We bought a sturdy mattress and have been utilizing this setup for almost 1 month. It’s comfortable and has worked out well. The mattress stands easily, even when made up with the bedding. Has anyone else tried a similar setup? I wonder how the mattress will hold up over time. We rotate it routinely to distribute the stress on the mattress. More tiny apartment videos at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLLxPsw1KeA93oqU5w6yWHk6HHqtsP4h1
